The Fishtank Festival launched in late 2009. We have held two one-day festivals in the Brick Lane area (The Fishank Festival and The Fishbowl), each welcoming over 800 guests and artists. Our motto is 'diversity enriches' and we are known for having an eclectic array of bands, acoustic musicians (playing sets by candlelight), exhibiting artists (including painters, photographers and sculptors), talks by entrepreneurs and scientists, comedy, short film, MCs, DJs, breakdance battles, burlesque, fashion shows by ethical designers, spoken word poets, magicians and DJs.

We aim to support artists through all stages of their careers and, whilst our budget is limited because we keep our ticket prices very low, we have a strong track record of attracting press attention. We have been featured in The Times, The Evening Standard, Itchy Online, and numerous other publications and websites. We aim to expose our audience to new acts and ideas and help artists reach a new audience, which we do by combining so many different genres.
